Nasceu em Angola em Agosto de 1970 e cresceu em Portugal. Para além da dupla nacionalidade, divide as imagens pelos dois países. Gosta de fotografia desde sempre. Aos 5 anos já era ele que colava no álbum, as fotografias que o seu pai tirava. Ë nessa altura que se apodera da máquina do seu progenitor. A paixão prosseguiu na adolescência, com a participação num curso de fotografia (analógica), onde aprendeu a fazer enquadramentos, a compor os elementos na fotografia e, principalmente, a revelar com químicos, no mundo da fotografia analógica.

Anos depois, e por influência de amigos, começou a fazer fotografia de rua. Sentindo-se como “peixe na água” no meio urbano, onde o elemento humano se mistura com os outros, e está em interacção com a atmosfera própria das cidades. Gosta de ir à procura da fotografia, de ligar (ainda que de forma fictícia) os elementos nos planos, e tirar dali a composição. Normalmente prefere que essa comunicação se faça com a técnica da focagem, recorrendo mais à fotografia Preto e Branco. Em Luanda o seu trabalho tem vindo a ser reconhecido, através dos prémios BESA, que destaca o melhor da fotografia em Angola. Obteve um 3º prémio e 4 menções honrosas, nas três últimas edições deste concurso.

Born in Angola in August 1970 and raised in Portugal, double nationality witch permited him to divide the images by the two countries. 

Loves photography ever since. At age of 5 he was already the one who glued to the family album, the photographs his father took. At that point, the camera was no longer his father´s.

His passion continued thought teenage years with an analogue photography course he attended, where he learns making frameworks, composing the elements on the photo and especially developing analog photos by chemicals.

Years later and influenced by friends he started making street photography. Feeling completely at ease and being fully integrated with the urban environment, where the human element is mixed with others in a perfect interaction with the atmosphere of cities.

Likes to go looking for the photo, although fictitiously, and connecting all the elements to the plans and obtaining the composition

Normally he rather prefers this communication is done through the focus technique, witch is better achieved with Black and White option.

In Luanda his work has been recognized through the BESA Awards, an award that highlights the best of photography in Angola. He won a 3rd prize and 4 honorable mentions in the contest last three editions.
